Collaboration is the key to success.

We believe that by working together with other community organizations, we can provide a better level of service to constituents. Our local government funded shelters receive hundreds of dollars per animal out of our tax dollars but continue to send unaltered animals back into the community by the thousands each month in “adoption programs” so that they will continue to reproduce and contribute to the stray population. The money clearly does not go to the animals. These shelters do not offer free spay/ neuter to the community, so the money does not go to the community. With excessive salaries for multiple directors from the shelters and national organizations that come to “oversee” shelter operations it is easy to see where the money does go. Shelters are misguided by national organizations that only seek to divert funds from our community to line the pockets of their overpaid staff. They encourage shelters to provide refuge for 75% less animals each year. These thousands of strays do not disappear. They suffer and reproduce in the streets of our community. As a result of deceptive practices, our community has one of the highest stray populations in the nation. By exposing these organizations that profit from the suffering of animals, we believe the misguided shelters and communities will seek to do better. NKRGV, Inc. will continue to help our community through providing access to veterinary care, advocacy, animal rescue, education, and free pet retention services.

Non-Discrimination Policy

Our organization is comprised of volunteers of different colors, cultures, religions, ages, sexes, and abilities. We serve a diverse community. Discrimination of any kind will never be tolerated by our organization. Our team members and clients have the civil right to be free of discrimination. Anyone that does not meet the community standards will be asked to leave immediately and no further contact will be permitted (the exceptions: only the acts of physically returning any pet to the individual that does not meet the community standards - and/ or - debt collection if the individual that does not meet the community standards has a bill outstanding). Immediate cessation of contact is for the protection of our team members and other clients. We strongly believe that bigotry has no place in animal welfare or good society.
