For more details about the RGV’s only spay/ neuter assistance program, navigate to the appointments page! NKRGV is the only organization that has appointments available within a few weeks. All other options have a 2-3 month waiting list. It is next to impossible to even get a response from other organizations. Save yourself the hassle and stress and sign up for our call back list located on our Facebook page.
*The Harlingen Clinic is no longer operating.
**All veterinary clinics provide you with veterinary records and written aftercare instructions.
***It is important to note that Independent Transporters take pets to Mexico and often do not tell you which vet they use, and you are not given any veterinary records. These Independent Transporters are not registered businesses or charities, and they are not exempt from civil liability. Transports that lack proper veterinary inspections, don’t meet the requirements for quarantine, and have unvaccinated pets could result in hefty penalties for pet owners (and possibly the confiscation of your pet). While using twilight to sedate your pet during surgery is not illegal in Mexico and can be acceptable in certain cases such as young male cat neuter whose testicles have descended, it is not necessarily the safest option for other cases. It is much cheaper to use twilight, but your pet is semi-conscious during this procedure. This means they see, hear, and smell everything. Because pets do not understand what is happening to them, this can be very traumatic for your pet. If we use one of our veterinary partners in Mexico, we use full-service (this is why we pay significantly more at our vet).
